Swindon’s most successful competitive cheerleading program.
Swindon Lightning Cheerleading Club aims to help young people engage in physical activity. We welcome children of all abilities to train in a fun and safe environment. Cheer training is fantastic for helping improve self-confidence, motivation and physical fitness.
We are holding a 12-hour ‘Cheerathon’ on 12th February 2022 to raise £5000 to extend the sprung floor in our gym. All our competitive teams will be performing throughout the day, there will be a showcase display from 12 noon, and cakes, souvenirs, and lots of lovely SLCC merchandise and goodies will also be on sale. Find out here how you can get involved.
After such a long absence due to the pandemic, we are looking forward to a full schedule of competitions in 2022. Our first competition will be at the BCA Super Classic in January 2022. Our athletes are working hard to deliver some brilliant performances, please wish our competitive cheerleading teams the very best of luck!
Cheerleading is a mix of gymnastics, acrobatics, jumps, stunts and dance. Cheer is a fully inclusive sport and caters for everyone’s talent and ability from toddlers to adults. Swindon Lightning offers enjoyable development to all its students from complete beginners through to elite athletes.
We are keeping up to date with guidance from the government as well as Sport Cheer England to ensure this season will run as safely as possible. A number of measures have been implemented to help keep the athletes and coaches safe including additonal cleaning regimes, temperatures checked on arrival, hand sanitiser is applied when athletes enter and exit the training facility and we require regular lateral flow testing for athletes of secondary school age. Please read our Risk Assessment for further information.
